Fraud Examination Added as a New GK & Co. Service
Groen, Kluka & Company, P.C. is now better able to help clients fight white-collar crime with the addition of a new service targeted to detect commercial fraud.
Lisa Papas, CPA, recently earned a certification from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the world’s leading provider of anti-fraud training and education and is now certified to provide forensic accounting services to Groen, Kluka & Company clients.
With her CFE designation, Papas is credentialed in four areas critical to the ongoing fight against fraud: fraudulent financial transactions, criminology and ethics, as well as legal elements of fraud and fraud investigation.
As a result, Groen, Kluka & Company, P.C. will actively seek out engagements where they will be hired specifically to examine data and records to detect and trace fraudulent transactions, interview suspects, write investigation reports and advise clients of results. Papas can also testify at a trial and is well versed in fraud law and the underlying factors that motivate individuals to commit fraud.
Forensic accounting is one of the fastest growing practices in the accounting industry. The Wall Street Journal as the “premier financial sleuthing organization” in the world has identified the ACFE. It is defined the application of special skills in accounting, auditing, finance, quantitative methods, certain areas of the law, and research, and investigative skills to collect, analyze, and evaluate evidential matter and to interpret and communicate findings.“It is our intention to continue to add to our capabilities in order to provide all clients with a comprehensive set of services to meet all their needs,” said Jeffrey J. Papas has been with Groen, Kluka & Company, P.C. for over 12 years.
